The Friends receive donations from supporters every day, whether it is money, clothes, or items for our Fairs. We are very grateful for everything we receive so please keep them coming.
Just so you are aware, there are a few things that we are no longer able to accept – please see below:
Videos, duvets/pillows, Readers Digest – condensed novels or magazines and magazines
What we do accept:
- Textiles (clothing)
- Shoes

- Books, CD's
- Small Electrical items
- Toys/Sundry
- Bric-a-Brac

- Bottle tops (With the number 2 in the recycling triangle)

Don’t just scrap your old car – give it to us!
We don’t actually want your old car but you can turn it into cash for us. We have signed up with GIVEACAR - the UK’s first car donation scheme.
GIVEACAR will arrange collection of the vehicle from your home address and then either sell the car at auction or scrap it and you can choose to have the proceeds donated to us. Inkjet Cartridges and Toner Cartridges
We have teamed up with Impact
Recycling www.impactrecycling.co.uk
to allow you to recycle your old ink cartridges to raise money
for the Friends. If you wish to get involved we have a large recycling
box in the foyer by reception – this gets emptied regularly.
Companies
wishing to have a recycling box on our behalf please let us know and we will warrange for a box to be dropped off and picked up
free of charge whenever it is full, and all profits from their recycling
will benefit The Friends of The Wisdom Hospice.
You can now can download and print out the document at the bottom of the page which has the freepost address written out for you! You can use this recycle your ink cartridges and mobile phones.
MOBILE PHONES
Why not recycle your old
mobile phone and raise funds for your Hospice. It doesn’t matter if your
phone is damaged, we accept them all! Chargers can be recycled too. You can use the free download at the bottom of the page to send them.
JEWELLERY
The
Friends have a jewellery recycling scheme in place which allows you to
donate any unwanted or broken jewellery to us and we receive money for
it. There are various freepost envelopes around the Hospice for you to
use or alternatively we would be happy to send you one.
You
can also now recycle in a very simple way, just parcel up your unwanted
jewellery (you can use an old envelope or a small box) and post free of
charge to:

We also recycle used postage stamps. Please send these to us or drop them off at our recycling box in the foyer at reception. In the last half of 2009 we raised £240.00 through this scheme, so please help if you can.
