Welcome to The Friends of the Wisdom Hospice.

The Wisdom Hospice was opened in 1984 and was named after Molly Wisdom who raised money for a hospice in the Medway area, even though she herself was dying of cancer. Following her example the Friends of The Wisdom Hospice were able to raise the rest of the funds to build the Hospice.

The Wisdom Hospice is now run by the Palliative Care Services of the Medway Primary Care Trust. The Friends of the Wisdom Hospice make an annual grant to Medway PCT of £472,085 towards the running costs of the hospice.

This grant makes up about 30% of the total running costs. The Friends have also funded a recent £1.3m refurbishment and extension project.

25 days of Fundraising

Calling all Fundraisers!!

We are approaching the end of the 25th Anniversary year of The Wisdom Hospice and to mark this special occasion we would like to organise 25 days of Fundraising activities, to close the year with a bang!

We've already got several events planned, but need as much help as possible to reach our target. We would like to encourage individuals, groups, WI’s etc to get involved and organise a fundraising event on our behalf – it can be as small or as big as you like!

The good news is that our fundraising activities will launch with a skydive on Saturday 6th March 2010 and will run through until 31st March, so you’ve got plenty of time to start planning.

If everyone gets involved to support their local hospice, we aim to raise an amazing £25,000 – that would be fantastic!

As we are the KM’s Medway Charity of the year for 2010, we can guarantee that we will be able to get plenty of publicity for your event.
